“Help is strangely something we want to do without, as if the very idea disturbs and blurs the boundaries of our individual endeavors, as if we cannot face how much we need in order to go on.

We are born with an absolute necessity for help, grow well only with a continuous succession of extended hands…”

I offer clients the opportunity to practice expressing themselves in a more honest and emotionally connected way, with the hope that this will transform their interpersonal relationships and life circumstances.

I view the therapist-client relationship as the most powerful tool in helping individuals to assume personal responsibility, strengthen their sense of self, and promote resilience. I welcome and affirm individuals of all religious and/or spiritual backgrounds, as well as the diversity of sexual and gender identities and their expressions.

I specialize in supporting people experiencing complicated grief associated with anticipated and unanticipated transitions across the developmental life cycle—graduations, marriage, adding children to families, career change, aging, divorce, and infertility, among others.

Individual Therapy

I offer individual counseling sessions to adults on a weekly, outpatient basis. I work best with individuals who are motivated to take risks, want to practice relating differently to others, and have a strong desire to experience change in their lives. I specialize in

Body Image and Eating Disorders

Sexual Issues/Addiction

Trauma

Self-Worth

Codependency

Grief and Loss

Relationship Issues

Career Counseling

Couples Therapy

I work with couples who are wanting to practice increased emotional communication within their relationship dynamic.

Group Therapy

I facilitate weekly, co-ed process groups for individuals who are wanting to put the skills we have been working to develop in individual therapy into practice and receive real-time feedback from others.

I also facilitate psychoeducation groups about building resilient families. These groups are helpful to individuals who are in the process of adding children to their families or those who already have children and want to incorporate more intention and meaning into their parenting.
