Who I Am
Through studies in public health, individual counseling, marriage and family therapy, and trauma counseling, I have developed a holistic approach to change and healing. I consider both where you’ve been and where you’re trying to go.
I have always been drawn to the complexities of identity development, grief, and uncertainty; how we locate ourselves in family and social groups, with whom we feel most comfortable and alive, and how we live out our values.
My identity as a therapist has been shaped significantly by finding the answers to these questions through my own personal work in individual, couples, and group therapy since age 20. I know how it feels to sit in the client’s chair—to feel uncertain, emote, and find a new way forward. I attempt to bring the same wholehearted presence that has been transformative in my own life to every client interaction.
I am a direct communicator who believes that honesty, curiosity and a little (or lot) of humor are essential.
Outside of the therapy room I love to read, cook, travel, be outdoors, and spend time with my family.
My Approach
I help clients feel their feelings and tell the truth about them.
I view the therapist-client relationship as the most powerful tool in helping individuals to assume personal responsibility, strengthen their sense of self, and promote resilience.
I welcome and affirm individuals of all religious and/or spiritual backgrounds, as well as the diversity of sexual and gender identities and their expressions.
