Pregnant and Postpartum Individuals

Pregnancy and the postpartum period require something enormous of a person. Not just physically, but in terms of who you are and who you are becoming. The questions can feel relentless. Is the baby okay? Am I okay? Is this normal? How will I get through birth? Do I want an epidural? What does it mean about me if I want an epidural? And then, once the baby arrives: Why don’t I feel the way I expected to? Am I doing this right? Who am I now?

Building a family is both beautiful and fraught, and holding both of those things at once is its own kind of emotional labor.

I work with pregnant and postpartum individuals to tend to their own inner lives during a time of extreme uncertainty and transformation. So much attention gets directed towards the baby (as it should) but that can leave you feeling invisible at the very moment you most need to be seen.

What We Work On Together

Pregnancy and the postpartum period surface questions that are hard to hold alone. In our work together we might explore

  • The anxiety and uncertainty that comes with pregnancy and new parenthood

  • The gap between what you expected to feel and what you actually feel

  • How becoming a parent is reshaping your sense of identity

  • Grief related to your pre-baby self, a birth experience that didn’t go as planned, or other relevant parts of the transition

  • Learning to continue to prioritize your own needs
